Acadia National Park has been crowned "America's Favorite Place" by ABC's "Good Morning America" program.  That's after the program put out a call to viewers to name their favorite place in the nation.

The park, on Mount Desert Island near Bar Harbor, attracts more than 2 million visitors a year. It includes Cadillac Mountain the first place in the nation to see the rising sun, and features 45 miles of scenic carriage roads and 125 miles of hiking trails.

The 50,000-acre park beat out other popular tourist destinations, including Lake Tahoe, Gulf Shores in Alabama, Chicago's Lakefront along Lake Michigan, and Glacier National Park in Montana.
