Biddeford Man Accused of Killing Tenants to Enter New Plea

A former landlord suspected of killing two teenagers in an apartment at his Biddeford home is expected to plead "not criminally responsible" by reason of insanity.

James Pak has been held without bail since his arrest in December 2012 for the shooting deaths of Derrick Thompson and Alivia Welch after a dispute.

Pak is expected to enter the new plea during a hearing tomorrow in York County Superior Court in Alfred.

Deputy Attorney General William Stokes confirmed the expected plea change Friday to the Portland Press Herald but he would not provide any details.

Pak's attorney did not return a call seeking comment.

Minutes before the shootings Thompson had called police to report that Pak was yelling and threatening him and banging on his door.
