Man Playing Disc Golf Struck By Neighbor's Bullet

LEWISTON, Maine - A Maine man who was struck in the face by a bullet while he was playing disc golf says he's lucky to be alive.

Police say Cameron Hart, of Lewiston, was struck Sunday at the Stevens Mountain View Disc Golf Course in Turner. He underwent surgery to remove the bullet from his cheek.

Police said a neighbor was target practicing on his property with a 9 mm handgun. One of those bullets struck Hart, who was several hundred feet away.

Police said the bullet likely ricocheted off an object first.

Troopers interviewed the neighbor and will examine his gun. His name hasn't been released. No charges have been filed.

Hart plays disc golf several times a week and never imagined he could have been shot during a game.
