MPBN Upgrades News Website to be Mobile Friendly

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network has announced a new, "platform aware" format for their news website, news.mpbn.net, providing website visitors with an enhanced user experience when accessing the site. Just launched earlier this summer, news.mpbn.net continues to evolve to meet the needs of Maine's media and news consumption preferences.

MPBN has been selected by National Public Radio as one of the first stations to roll out this new format, which automatically sizes to fit the screen of the user's device, including tablets and smartphones. This constitutes a major step forward in MPBN's continuing efforts to offer the best in digital media service in the state.

"Not only is our new news site compatible across all platforms, but the format echoes that of our national news partner, NPR, creating an intuitive and streamlined experience for website visitors to consume local as well as national news online," MPBN President and CEO Mark Vogelzang said. "We continue to work toward becoming the choice source for news and information in Maine, and being fully mobile is another big step toward doing just that."

The newly formatted MPBN news website is available now at news.mpbn.net.
