Portland Ovations Presents The Orlando Consort: "Voices Appeared"
Thursday, January 24 at 7:30 pm
Hannaford Hall, Portland
Maine Public is the media sponsor of Portland Ovations Classical Series including a performance by The Orlando Consort, live at Hannaford Hall on the University of Southern Maine Portland campus, on Thursday evening, January 24.
The program, "Voices Appeared," is a live, multimedia performance and historical reconstruction of Carl Theodor Dreyer's 1928 film La Passion de Jeanne d’Arc. Curated and performed by the UK’s celebrated Orlando Consort, the project uses vocal works from the early part of the 15th century — coinciding with Joan of Arc’s lifetime — to accompany the classic silent film.
