Public Auction Of Saco Island Land Postponed Until March

The public auction of land on Saco Island has been postponed from tomorrow until mid-March.Attorney Jon Flagg , who represents the mortgage holder, says the delay will give the developer more time to get approvals for a proposed $40 million mixed-use project.

"And so we said, 'All right, let's step back and let them do their thing, and we'll cheer them on from the side line and wait and see if they're successful,' " Flagg says. "And we expect they will be and we hope they will be."

Saco Island is located in the Saco River between downtown Biddeford and Saco
