U.S. Senate Candidate Arrested After Trying To Deliver Goods To Children Held In Texas

U.S. Senate candidate Zak Ringelstein of Yarmouth, Maine was arrested Friday morning outside a facility in McAllen, Texas while attempting to deliver water, food, blankets, books and toys to children being held at the border in detention facilities.

At this time, the specific charges are not known. There has been no communication from Ringelstein since his arrest about 9:30 a.m. although staff has updated his social media accounts.

A video of Ringelstein's arrest was shared on Facebook.
