The CO2 shortage in Australia has soft drinks going flat

MICHEL MARTIN, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Michel Martin. There is a gas shortage in Australia. Not the type that goes in your car, but CO2. That's the stuff that makes your soft drinks fizz. The shortage has left the shelves of some Australian supermarket chains bereft of many preferred beverages. Only two companies supply Australia with CO2. They say they're working to fix the problem. In the meantime, the supply that's available is being prioritized for medical and other uses. But, you know, the beer supply is unaffected. Just, you know, saying. It's MORNING EDITION.
