Maine will receive $225 million in federal funding over the next five years to repair bridges.

Rep. Chellie Pingree and Sen. Susan Collins announced the funding Friday, which is available through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

315 bridges in Maine are currently in poor condition. Nationwide, funding from the Infrastructure Act is expected to help repair roughly 15,000 bridges.
