First Friday, Downtown Waterville

First Friday, Downtown Waterville

Join the Colby College Museum of Art at the Paul J. Schupf Art Center, 93 Main Street, for an art-making activity, games, and music, as part of the monthly First Friday offerings across downtown Waterville.

From 4–6 pm, gather with Tessa Greene O’Brien, the Lunder Institute resident fellow who created the Fields Alive with Pollen + Wings mural in the Hub at the Paul J. Schupf Art Center. We’ll use the same design process that Tessa used to create this 30-foot-tall work of art—adding our own drawings of local flora (plants) and fauna (animals), creatures from our imagination, or colorful geometric shapes to Tessa’s original sketches. The creation of this large collaborative artwork will be fun for all ages.

In addition to these activities, there will be more First Friday Downtown Waterville experiences happening with Waterville Creates, The Colby Arts Office at the Greene Block + Studios, The Center for Book & Print, and a host of downtown businesses.

First Fridays celebrate the vibrant creativity of Waterville by inviting people downtown to engage in multidisciplinary arts experiences. On the first Friday of every month, visit downtown Waterville to meet artists, participate in workshops, listen to live music, eat delicious local food, and come together as a community.
