Winthrop Arts Festival
The fun in downtown Winthrop will start with the 34th Annual Sidewalk Art Festival, featuring arts and crafts by local students and artisans, including paintings, sculptures, photography, and quilts.
There will also be live music by The Bailey Ukulele Band, The Stone Quarry Band (with special guest guitarists), and singer-songwriters Peter Carriveau, Stan Davis and Ed DesJardins.
The Winthrop Area Rotary will be accepting sign-ups for WindowDressers, a community energy-saving project.
And for the first time, Porta Potties will be available.
Other events taking place as part of the festival include:
* The Winthrop Congregational Church Summerfest Spectacular at 10 Bowdoin St., 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a food table, Kate's Quilts, Joan's Nature Crafts, Second Time Around, jewelry, dishcloths and RADA cutlery.
