Jury Deliberating in Maine Murder Case

PORTLAND, Maine - Jurors are resuming deliberations in the murder trial of a man charged with shooting his girlfriend and leaving the body in a SUV in a Maine motel parking lot.

The Portland Press Herald reports that the jury is spending Thursday weighing testimony it heard over eight days at the Cumberland County Courthouse in Portland. Prosecutors accuse 21-year-old Anthony Pratt Jr. of killing 29-year-old Margarita Fisenko Scott in a Portland apartment in 2012. Justice Thomas Warren gave the case to the jury at 2 p.m. Wednesday following three hours of closing arguments.

Pratt, of Queens, New York, pleaded not guilty to one count of murder and has been held without bail since his arrest in New York in April 2013.
