AUGUSTA, Maine - A Maine man accused of violently shaking his baby daughter, causing injuries that led to a court battle over a no-resuscitate order, has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault.
Twenty-two-year-old Kevin Peaslee entered the plea Friday in Superior Court. Under an agreement, two other charges were dropped and prosecutors are seeking a seven-year sentence.
According to court documents, Peaslee "lost it'' in December when his daughter became fussy while he was playing a "Call of Duty'' video game on an Xbox.
The child, who's in foster care, is now a spastic quadriplegic who cannot see or hear and must be fed through a tube.
The state supreme court dismissed the mother's appeal of a court-approved do-not-resuscitate decision last month after the state has agreed to abide by the mother's wishes.
