AUBURN, Maine - Officials in a Maine city say residents alarmed by bright green water in the Androscoggin River have nothing to worry about.
The Sun Journal reports city officials say the bright green plume from a storm drain under the Auburn side of the Longley Bridge is harmless dye used to test the city's storm drain system.
The city is issuing a notice on Friday in the wake of concerns from residents about the "bright neon green substance'' in the river.
Officials say there will be more testing on Friday and on Aug. 24.
