The Maine Center for Disease Control has added 203 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths on Tuesday.

In all, 47,591 COVID-19 cases and 725 deaths have been reported.

The Maine Center for Disease Control cautioned the public on Tuesday that a possible COVID-19 uptick could occur in the state. Both the number of hospitalizations and the state’s positivity rate have increased over the last two weeks.

Almost 525,000 doses of vaccine have been administered in the state. That number is likely low due to an error in the national vaccine distribution tracking system.

All this week, Maine Public Radio will reflect on the one-year anniversary of the pandemic in the state as part of our Deep Dive series.

The Maine CDC’s next briefing on the pandemic is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday. Maine Public will bring that to you live.

Correction: Due to a data transmission error at the Maine CDC, 203 cases were added on Wednesday, not 95 as previously reported.
