Eight counties are now on the list of areas where the Maine CDC recommends everyone- regardless of vaccination status- wear masks indoors: Cumberland, Kennebec, Lincoln, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Somerset, Waldo, and York.

Both the state and U.S. CDC recently updated its guidance to recommend people who are vaccinated against COVID-19 resume wearing masks in areas with higher transmission of the disease.
