21 Patients Evacuated From Western Maine Hospital After Smoke Is Detected

NORWAY, Maine (AP) — A small Maine hospital has been evacuated after smoke was reported in the facility.

Officials say the 21 patients at the Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, including two with COVID-19, were transported to other facilities on Friday.

A hospital official says the emergency department reopened late Friday night. There was no word Saturday morning about the cause of the smoke.
