Maine is reporting 1,091 new cases of the coronavirus on Thursday. The daily counts have fallen in recent days, but state officials say that's likely because of a drop in testing over the holiday.

The seven-day average has dropped to 728. A week ago it was over 900.

The state CDC is reporting 15 additional deaths of people with COVID-19.

The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Maine has dipped slightly, to 329 patients. But the number who need critical care and ventilators has ticked up, to 117 and 57 respectively.
