Suspect Pleads Not Guilty to Waterville Slaying

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) _ A Maine man charged with killing a 92-year-old Waterville man he once worked for has pleaded not guilty.

Roland Cummings was held without bail Wednesday after pleading not guilty to murder and other charges in connection with the May stabbing death of Aurele Fecteau.

The 44-year-old Cummings was arrested after police matched his DNA to that found on the turned-out pockets of pants found on Fecteau's floor.

According to an investigator's affidavit, Cummings told detectives that he visited Fecteau at his home several weeks before, used the bathroom, and then stole $2 he found when he went through Fecteau's pants.

Cummings used to do odd jobs around Fecteau's home.

Cummings' attorney tells the Kennebec Journalhe's waiting to see more evidence in the case.
