SALEM TOWNSHIP, Maine - Police say a Maine newspaper carrier finishing up his route has died after he lost control of his SUV and hit a tree.
State Trooper Reid Bond says 48-year-old Tom Poulin of Farmington was traveling toward Kingfield on Route 142 at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday when the accident happened in Salem Township. He died at the scene.
Poulin was an independent contractor for the Morning Sentinel for more than 20 years. He also delivered the Lewiston Sun-Journal.
Charlene McGraw, circulation manager for the Sentinel and the Kennebec Journal, says Poulin was a dedicated worker.
