PARIS, Maine - The police chief of a Maine town is facing a drunken driving charge after getting pulled over last week.
The Portland Press Herald reports that 50-year-old Paris Police Chief Michael Madden of Harrison was pulled over in Naples by a Cumberland County sheriff's deputy after midnight last Friday. Police pulled him over for erratic operation and he failed a sobriety test. Madden had no passengers and was cooperative during the stop.
Police declined to release the results of Madden's blood alcohol test. He is due for arraignment on Jan. 20. Madden was released on bail.
A spokeswoman for the Paris police said Wednesday that Madden was not immediately available. It wasn't known if he had a lawyer.
