Cyclists to Roll in Lobster Ride Sunday

ROCKLAND, Maine (AP) _ Hundreds of bicyclists are preparing to head out for the 14th annual Maine Lobster Ride.

The first riders will depart Oceanside High School in Rockland at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Riders will choose one of several different routes that cover 100 miles, 80 miles, 50 miles, 30 miles or 15 miles.

They'll pass through several towns along the Maine coast, including Rockport, Camden and Searsmont. All routes will end back at Oceanside High, where participants will be able to enjoy a lobster roll to celebrate their successful ride.

The Lobster Ride is held every year to raise money for the Bicycle Coalition of Maine, which educates the public about safe cycling and advocates for laws to better protect bicyclists.
