UMS Trustees Aim to Invest in IT Infrastructure
AUGUSTA, Maine — University of Maine System trustees are taking a step toward a $44 million investment in information technology across the seven campuses.
The board on Monday authorized the development of a work plan and a funding strategy for the IT investment, which is part of the "One University Initiative."
The plan would include $24.8 million to upgrade wireless service and associated cabling and equipment and $17.2 million for a "Classrooms for the Future" upgrade.
The recommended IT investments would support a unified online implementation plan presented to the board by University of Maine at Augusta President Rebecca Wyke.
