Delays Expected on Casco Bay Bridge This Week
PORTLAND, Maine — People using the Casco Bay Bridge tomorrow through Thursday may experience a few more short delays.
Maine Department of Transportation spokesperson Ted Talbot says crews will be performing an in-depth inspection of the drawbridge, which spans the Fore River connecting Portland and South Portland.
Talbot says the process may necessitate up to three additional openings per day, lasting no longer than five minutes per opening.
"These additional openings are only going to occur between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for those three days," he says.
Talbot says an out-of-state company that does bridge inspections across the U.S. has been hired for this project.
