BANGOR, Maine - Beatles legend Ringo Starr will be performing in Bangor in June.
City officials say the 75-year-old rock icon, born Richard Starkey, is scheduled to perform with his All-Starr Band at the Cross Insurance Center June 8. The concert marks the first time the former Beatles drummer has performed in Maine, officials say.
After The Beatles broke up, Starr pursued a solo career. He's put out 18 solo studio albums, most recently "Postcards from Paradise," released last year. He's been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, both as a solo artist and as a member of The Beatles.
The concert features several other top pop and rock artists, including Todd Rundgren, Warren Ham, Greg Rolie, and members of the bands Toto, Mr. Mister and ELO.
Tickets for the show go on sale Friday.
