KINGSBURY PLANTATION, Maine - Authorities in Maine say an inmate who walked away from a worksite in a rural area has been apprehended.

Police say 20-year-old Jonathan Edman walked away from the site at Kingsbury Pond on Route 16. He is an inmate at the Charleston Correctional Facility in Charleston.

Edman is a former Waterville resident who is serving a five-year sentence with all but two years suspended for his conviction on domestic violence assault and other charges. He has been in custody since March.

Police say Edman fled on Tuesday afternoon. Kingsbury Plantation is located about 28 miles north of Skowhegan.

Edman walked off from the Kingsbury Pond rest area at around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
