John Tuttle has been declared the victor in the Democratic primary in Maine Senate District 33, which includes the York County towns of Cornish, Limerick, Newfield, Parsonsfield, Sanford, Shapleigh and Waterboro.
According to a recount conducted today, Tuttle got 844 votes, while his rival, Andrea Boland, got 822. In the June 10 primary count, Tuttle got 841 votes compared with 821 for Boland.
Maine Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap says the recount tally was different than the original because there were a handful of votes that couldn't be read electronically that were added in during the manual recount.
Dunlap says both candidates accepted the recount results.
