AUGUSTA, Maine — A Maine legislative committee is meeting again to determine whether to take action following its investigation of Gov. Paul LePage's role in the denial of a job offer to one of his opponents.
The Government Oversight Committee is meeting Thursday in Augusta.
Good Will-Hinckley Chairman Jack Moore told the committee in October that a threat by the governor to withhold money from the school led its board to back off a job offer to Democratic House Speaker Mark Eves. LePage is a Republican and rival of Eves.
Good Will-Hinckley operates one of the first charter schools in Maine. Former Good Will-Hinckley interim president Rich Abramson testified before the oversight committee last month. He says LePage told him the school risked "losing my support" over the Eves hire.
