PORTLAND, Maine - Maine Gov. Paul LePage has nominated his chief legal counsel and two other attorneys to serve on the Maine District Court bench.
Cynthia Montgomery, a Texas native, has served as the governor's chief legal counsel since February. Also nominated were Charles Budd Jr., a partner at Rudman Winchell in Bangor, and Thomas Nale Sr., of Nale & Nale Law Offices in Waterville.
LePage announced his nominations Tuesday.
All judicial nominations must be vetted by the Maine Legislature's Judiciary Committee and confirmed by the full Senate.
