Democrat Sara Gideon's campaign says it raised $3.5 million in the last three months of 2019 and spent nearly that much over the period in her bid to unseat Republican Sen. Susan Collins. The fundraising brings Gideon to a total of $7.6 million raised since announcing her candidacy in June.
Collins' fourth-quarter numbers weren't yet available but her most recent reports put her total fundraising at $8.5 million.
