Police in Maine say a 13-year-old student has been arrested and charged in connection with terrorizing threats that shut down a number of schools.
The student, whose name was not released, is accused of contributing to the threat, which prompted lockdowns and a heavy police response Wednesday. Bangor Police Det. Sgt. Brent Beaulieu says several students in Bangor learned of threats of violence toward two of the district's schools coming from a fictitious social media account.
Police conducted multiple interviews and were able to identify the suspect with the help of internet service providers. The teenager faces a charge of terrorizing, a felony.
