Bangor Woman Charged After 1-Year-Old Daughter Dies From Fentanyl

Bangor Police Department

A woman is being held without bail in Penobscot County Jail in connection with the death her 1-year-old daughter from fentanyl.

Kimberly Nelligan, 33, of Bangor, was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with endangering the welfare of a child along with a drug charge.

The child died in Oct. 2018, after police were called to a home in Bangor to help the unresponsive child, who died after being taken to the hospital. The cause of death was found to be probable toxic effects of fentanyl.

A police statement says the investigation is still in progress and no further information will be available.
