Bay Ferries says it plans to begin Cat ferry service between Bar Harbor and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia on June 21. That's according to an announcement on the company's website.That's a later start than during either of the past two years, and later than what Bay Ferries says will be its schedule beginning next year.
The company says this year's later start will allow for renovations at the Bar Harbor terminal, which has been out of use for years and also needs new security upgrades.
Bay Ferries also indicates that the start date could slip back further if needed work can't be finished on time.
