CMP: Power Restored For All But 400 Homes, Businesses

PORTLAND, Maine - Central Maine Power and Emera Maine are still mopping up a handful of outages caused by a nor'easter last week. CMP reported Monday morning that about 400 homes and businesses were still in the dark. Emera Maine had reduced the number to fewer than 200. That's down from a high of more than 200,000 customers between CMP and Emera Maine after the storm last week.

Hundreds of additional crews from as far away as Indiana have joined CMP's 100 crews to work on power restoration since Thursday.

The nor'easter was especially hard on southern Maine. Trees were knocked down on power lines, homes and cars. The cleanup is continuing.
