Curt Stager - "Climate Whiplash: What happens after global warming?"

Curt Stager - "Climate Whiplash: What happens after global warming?"

The University of Maine recently hosted a talk, 'Climate Whiplash: What happens after global warming?', by Curt Stager, a paleoecologist, educator, Science Journalist and author of Deep Future: The Next 100,000 Years of Life on Earth. His talk is about the very long-term effects of global warming.

Curt Stager teaches natural sciences at Paul Smith’s College, NY, and is an adjunct professor at the University of Maine’s Climate Change Institute. In his book, Deep Future: The Next 100,000 Years of Life on Earth, Stager argues that fossil fuel emissions will interfere with climates for much longer than most people, including scientists, realize. In the best-case scenario, according to the book, the world won’t fully recover for tens of thousands of years.

This talk was recorded March 29, 2012 at the DP Corbett Building on the University of Maine Campus.
