The Future of Telecom in Maine

The Future of Telecom in Maine

Speaking in Maine offers the latest Joshua Chamberlain lecture from Portland's Cumberland Club. The speaker is Michael C. Reed, President of FairPoint Communications, Maine. He discusses his first 90 days on the job as well as what the future holds from his vantage point.

A 40-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, Michael Reed is the person FairPoint communications hired in January to navigate regulatory matters, governmental affairs and economic development in Maine for the company.

He is the past chairman of the New York State Telecommunications Association and past president of the New Hampshire Telecommunications Association. He also served on the board of directors for the Maine and the Vermont State Telecommunications Associations, respectively.

Cumberland Club President Paul Tull introduces Mr. Reed while Cumberland Club Board Member Brenda Garrand emcees the question-and-answer session at the end of this talk.
