The New Balance factory in Skowhegan has been evacuated due to a hazardous materials incident.
WABI-TV reports that five people have been transported to a hospital and a few dozen others are being medically evaluated on the scene.
It’s unclear what chemicals employees were exposed to, but symptoms reportedly include breathing difficulty and burning eyes.
