Inmate Serving 45-Year Sentence For Murder Dies In Maine State Prison

WARREN, Maine - A Bangor man who was serving a 45-year sentence for shooting a man in the head in 1992 has died at the Maine State Prison. Officials say 69-year-old James Young died Tuesday morning and that the death was attended by prison staff. State police and the state medical examiner were notified. Young acknowledged at his trial that he shot Mike Marshall in the back of the head but said he was too drunk and high to realize that the gun was loaded.
