L.L. Bean Says It Plans To Lay Off 200, Close Lewiston Call Center by 2021

Freeport-based L.L. Bean says it plans to layoff 200 employees company-wide by the end of February.  The Sun Journal is reporting that the retailer also plans to close its Lewiston call center in 2021 and move out of the historic Peck Building.

An L.L. Bean spokesperson told the Sun Journal that the 130 employees who work there have been offered similar positions at the company's Portland call center, or the option to work from home.
