A Metro bus driver wears a mask to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus while while working on a rainy day, Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, in Portland, Maine.

The number of cases associated with a COVID-19 outbreak in Waldo County has grown to 46.

The Maine CDC reports that three people are now hospitalized.

The outbreak began at the Brooks Pentecostal Church and cases have since been identified in its affiliated school, four public schools and a residential care facility in Searsport.

One staff member at Bayview Manor is positive. The CDC says no further positive cases were found in a first round of universal testing at the facility.

Individuals who attended services or a fellowship event in the past two weeks at the Brooks Pentecostal Church are encouraged to get tested if they experience symptoms of COVID-19.

The update comes as the Maine CDC reports 38 additional cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.

The number of deaths remains unchanged at 146, and there are 637 active cases in the state.
