The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention has reported an increase of 19 cases of COVID-19 in the state.
In a press release, the Maine CDC says there have now been 2,074 total cases of the disease here. Of those, 1,858 cases have been confirmed by the state laboratory, and 216 are classified as probable.
No new deaths were reported Monday. Seventy-eight Mainers have died in connection with COVID-19, in total.
The Maine CDC has also reported an increase of 11 positive cases at Cape Memory Care in Cape Elizabeth. Forty-seven cases have been confirmed in residents, 20 in staff members and one case is probable, for a total of 68 at the facility for people with Alzheimer’s or dementia. The CDC previously had reported 57 cases in announcing an outbreak at the facility.
