Maine Home Sales Rise in September

aine home sales rose nearly 7 percent in September, compared with sales the same month last year.  The Maine Association of Realtors says 1,393 existing single-family homes were sold in Maine this September, compared with 1,307 in September of 2013.

The median sales price also rose 1.16 percent over the same period, rising from $173,000 to $175,000. The median price means half the homes sold for more and half for less.

"The numbers are looking pretty steady - another sign that real estate has stabilized," says Maine Association of Realtors President Angelia Levesque, in a statement.
