Maine's COVID-19 death toll rose overnight by three to 98, as another 36 cases of the disease were diagnosed, for a total since the outbreak's onset of 2,482.That's according to the Maine Center for Disease Control, which released the new figures Friday afternoon. The CDC is not planning a media briefing for Friday. In an email, a CDC official said COVID-19 briefings will resume Monday.
One of three people who died, one was from Androscoggin County, another from Cumberland County and the third from York County.
Twenty-one of the 36 new cases are in Cumberland County, seven in York County and four in Androscoggin County.
Since the pandemic began 1,797 people have recovered from the disease, 58 more than Thursday. There have been 293 hospitalizations. Thirty-five remain there, 13 in critical care and seven on ventilators.
