Maine Reviewing Death of Inmate at State Prison

WARREN, Maine - The Maine Department of Corrections says authorities are reviewing the death of an inmate at the Maine State Prison in Warren.

The department says state police and the medical examiner's office have been notified of the death of 77-year-old Edward C. Robinson Jr. on Monday night. Robinson, of Penobscot County, was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences for murder in 1990.

The corrections department says police and the medical examiner are both reviewing Robinson's death. The review is consistent with the department's own policies and the state attorney general's protocols.
