Man In Custody After Armed Standoff At Former Navy Housing

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Police say a man was taken into custody after an armed standoff in Brunswick. The standoff came after a report of domestic abuse at a former Navy housing complex. The man, who had a rifle, was arrested Monday morning, nearly two hours after tear gas was fired into the unit, police said. Officers were able to get a woman and child out of the home.

Police said the incident began just after midnight when officers were called to the home.
