LISBON, Maine - Police in a Maine town say they're investigating a complaint of a sexual assault involving two high school students in a case that has inspired a walkout at the school.
A female student at Lisbon High School has accused a male student of assaulting her in a school parking lot April 25. Dozens of students walked out of the school for two hours on Tuesday morning to show their solidarity with the female student.
The Portland Press Herald reports police in Lisbon have confirmed they are investigating, but they won't comment further.
Superintendent Richard Green says the school administration is working on a plan to help students feel safe. School is ending for the year in the coming weeks.
He says the district learned about the allegations the following day.
