U.S. Rep. Bruce Poliquin, R-Maine, finishes a tour of the ND Paper mill during a campaign stop Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, in Old Town, Maine.

AUGUSTA, Maine- The last few ballots from the second congressional district arrived  in Augusta Saturday, as the race for the congressional seat goes on, days after ballots were cast.

It's the first time ranked choice voting has been used in electing a national seat.

Meanwhile, incumbent Bruce Poliquin-R,  says if not for ranked choice voting he would be the election winner already through a plurality, with an approximate 2,000 vote lead.A post on Poliquin's Facebook page alludes to "ongoing concerns" with the process, and a promise to "monitor" it.  However, it is still not clear if Poliquin would challenge the outcome, should Democratic challenger Jared Golden win a majority through the ranked choice system.
The trend among Poliquin's supporters was not to rank choices, with voters mostly opting to put all their voting power behind Poliquin alone.

A tally is expected sometime this week.
