Portland Ovations Presents
American Contemporary Music Ensemble: "Strumming Music"

Join Portland Ovations at the Institute of Contemporary (ICA) art at MECA for an exploration of visual art and music disciplines. Surrounded by the ICA’s Drawing Now exhibit, audience members will experience the music of American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME) who have been hailed as "vital," "brilliant," and "electrifying," by The New York Times. The audience will be seated in the exhibit, the music and a new video projection by ICA Artist-in-Residence Kevin Townsend, created specifically for this performance for an immersive visual and aural experience.
Drawing Now, guest curated for the ICA by Bruce Brown and Munira Naqui, is the Drawing Collective's first US exhibition. Audience members will have the option of joining for a free, curator-led tour of the gallery at 6:30 pm before sitting down to experience ACME perform works by Charlemagne Palestine, Clarice Jensen, Phillip Glass and Morton Feldman, with the centerpiece of the performance being Palestine’s Strumming Music.
