An employee at the ND Paper mill in Rumford with COVID-19 has died.
A company spokesperson confirmed the death in a written statement.
At a news briefing Tuesday, Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah said that 21 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at ND Paper. He said the cases appear to be centered in one part of the mill, but he’s concerned that transmission may have occurred outside the workplace.
