PORTLAND, Maine - Hundreds of people this morning stood in a line that stretched down Congress Street in Portland waiting to get into the State Theatre to see Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

This comes a day after Super Tuesday, in which Sanders won four states compared with Hillary Clinton's seven.

In July Sanders drew about 7,000 people to a rally at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland. Today's venue is much smaller.

One of those waiting this morning to attend was Sanders supporter Chris Robertson from South Portland. What does he like about Sanders?  "He's a realist and he's not bought. He's a conscious ethical mind. We don't need any more corruption."

Maine Democrats caucus on Sunday. Robertson says he plans to attend.

A Columbia University graduate, Fred began his journalism career as a print reporter in Vermont, then came to Maine Public in 2001 as its political reporter, as well as serving as a host for a variety of Maine Public Radio and Maine Public Television programs.
